This competition is organized by Wimbledon Circle as a contribution to the life of the Province. The first competition was held in 1979 and it has been held annually ever since (except for 2003 when we preferred to celebrate our 1000th meeting).
In 2009, continuing the idea of "classes" there were four winners from about 70 entries. The Wimbledon Cup, for the best in the "General" class was won by Mrs Mary Wilson (Reigate Circle), with this picture entitled "Pied Kingfisher with fish". This year saw another strange coincidence with all four prizes going to one husband-and-wife team. Mary also winning the "Family" class with "Katelyn and pretty dress" while huspband Andrew won the "Unusal/Bizarre" class with "A bird in your year" and the assembled company voted his "Purple roller with locust" as their favourite.
